Tim Sikyea
In March 1951 Tim Sikyea was born in Fort Resolution, North West Territories of Canada, and grew up in Yellow Knife. He is of the Dene Nation and his Indian name is Wanbli Isna-La (Lonely Eagle) given to him by the Lakota people.
Since 1976 Tim has dedicated his life to traditional Indian Ceremonies and teaching the Indian way, lifestyle and the wisdom of the Ancestors. He leads Sweatlodge Ceremonies, Vision Quests, Name Giving Ceremonies, Pipe Ceremonies, and has participated in the Sundance for 20 years. Another important ceremony is the honoring of people who have passed away.
As a Medicine Man Tim teaches the people to help themselves and to discover joy, happiness, the appreciation of all life, and unconditional love. His teachings also remind us of the Sacredness of Mother Earth.
Tim is also Chief of the Earth Dance, a ceremony for the Earth our Mother. She is our true Mother and her love for her people is unconditional.
