On Sept 11, 2007 James left his home in Salt Lake City to serve a mission for the LDS church.

He spent three weeks in Johannesberg, South Africa at a small Missionary Training Center with 20 other missionaries from all over the world.  He has worked in 5 areas around Kampala and is currently in Ethiopia living and working in a town called Debre Zeit.
