Namibia Preschool in Otjiwarongo

Sometime last week myself and some new friends took a trip up north to check out a preschool to buy and give me a chance to see the country.  Zipping along at well over 100 miles an hour on minimally occupied roads on a day that varied from sunny to wonderfully cloudy I was able to snap this photo before the hartebeest took a sharp right, slipped, and then skid on its butt across the highway while managing to miss our truck.  Even though I missed filming a National Geographic moment there is something special about painted road lines that point to levitating wildlife.

We made it up past Okahandja to Otjiwarongo where we checked out a preschool while I fended off the natives. I never know that amounts of children could be measured in gross tonnage.  As I was able to somehow keep the chilluns occupied, my friend assayed the situation and later on bought the place to make sure the school would be there for the little guys and girls.

The reality here is that this place is good.  It has more than potential.  It’s not a 3rd world country where people fight to stay alive but in some outlying areas, there is abuse of children and the kids need a safe areas where they can stay kids and start their lives right.  Play, learn, jump on Alex.  These are things that kids need to do.  It’s a good thing that there are people here who care and know how to make things happen.

Yes, we bought it.
