Widowed in 2000, Helga has a son, Carl and a daughter, Madeleine, as well as four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Helga’s writing career began with the publication of her memoir Flashbacks of a Diplomat’s Wife. In 2006 she published her first novel, Whither the Promised Land.
