ANATOMY I

A combination of Anatomical theory and Yoga practice will help outline the key alignment principles of Hatha Yoga.
Understand the structure, function, and interrelationship between your spine and hips, knees and feet, shoulders and neck, and the anatomical support of the breath.
Understanding Anatomy will support your Yoga practice; practicing Yoga will support your Anatomy.

ANATOMY II

With anatomical principles established in Part I, you can now apply this knowledge to your own alignment. Through Posture Analysis and specific exercises for correcting and strengthening, take anatomy to a new level, off the yoga mat and into daily life. 
Pre- or Co-requisite: Anatomy I


ANATOMY MEETS ASANA: weekend intro course

Explore fundamentals of Anatomy and Alignment though a yoga practice. Understand the relationship between anatomy and physiology through principles of the Stress response & the Relaxation response; 
how these affect muscular tension, mental clarity, and healing. 
Apply these to the fundamentals of yoga alignment and philosophy to deepen your understanding of the mind-body connection.


PHYSIOLOGY

Anatomy helps understand structure, Physiology helps understand function. Learn about the nervous system and the stress response, and how yoga and breathing affect different aspects of this response, through an understanding of organs, muscles, and circulation.

My Anatomy Almanac

Practice and theory will outline a deeper look into our own bodies. Anatomical guidelines will lead a practice focused on the theme of the week (spine, hips/feet, shoulders/neck, and breath). The students will keep a journal or log after each class which will amount to a final homework assignment. FUN!


Private Anatomy Courses

Learn the fundamentals of Anatomy, Alignment, and Biomechanics based on your own posture evaluation. The program is developed to help you understand your posture, key alignment cues, and how to apply them during your day - be it at work, yoga or play.
Specific exercises, stretches and tricks will help you move through your day with ease, efficiency and energy. Learn to adapt the yoga postures to your own body to ensure maximum benefits.
