Welcome to the Yellow Barn Bed & Breakfast. We are located midway between ITHACA and Cortland in the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine Country of upstate New York. Our 27 wooded acres are adjacent to the 1200 acres of the Yellow Barn State Forest.
Nearby are CORNELL UNIVERSITY, CAYUGA LAKE, ITHACA COLLEGE, WELLS COLLEGE, Cortland State, The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, GREEK PEAK SKI CENTER, and many State Parks with their picturesque gorges and waterfalls.
In a centuries-old tradition, we cleared the land, designed the barn, and built the timber-framed structure from trees that we harvested from our own land. Hundreds of timbers, including eight 750 lb. beams with their pegged mortise and tenon joints were milled by us.
We were assisted during our 9 year endeavor by talented local craftsmen, including: Architect David Bravo-Cullen, Marty Pirsic, Leon Grover, Nash Construction, and Greg Valentine.
We offer FOUR GUEST ROOMS on the second floor for your visit: The BULLPEN with twin beds, the HENHOUSE and the GRANARY with a Queen size bed each, and the HAYLOFT with a King size bed. Each room has it’s own private bath and thermostatically controlled heat.
Our ROOM RATES for one or two people for one room/night are $100 from Mon.-Thurs. with a Continental Breakfast and $110 from Fri. - Sun. with a Full Breakfast, all prepared by our own Parisian, Liliane. Our winter rate (Dec. - Mar.) is $90 per night with a Continental Breakfast.
For your convenience, all our rooms have wired and wireless high speed internet access.
So, come on up and enjoy the birding, the FOREST TRAIL, the views, the peace and quiet, the old-fashioned front PORCH, the SCREENED DECK, THE SKY DECK, the LIBRARY, and the GREAT HALL.
