The Camptonville Academy Language Arts, Photography,
Drama, and Film Classes
Composition involves students developing their skills in all aspects of writing: descriptive writing, responses to literature, informational research, summaries, persuasive writing, along with fun writing like poetry and podcasts. Grammar and sentence structure are covered in all composition classes. View our Blog.
In Photography and Film, students learn about the history of the camera, and they learn how to make adjustments to their images including effects and filters. Students also capture digital video footage, edit, and creatively construct films for public viewing. They learn how to use Pinnacle Studio editing software, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and iMovie editing software from Apple Inc. Project development, planning, organization and team collaboration are all emphasized. The films are shown at the Camptonville Film Festival in May.
Composition Class and Photography and Film Class
The Camptonville Academy has classes in various forms of the written arts. We practice all aspects of writing: creative fiction, poetry, drama, essays, podcasts, and yearbook journalism, to name a few. We hope you enjoy our great young writers. Please visit our website if you want to understand more about Personalized Learning.
Movies and Podcasts were produced in the Computer Technology class, Film class, or the Composition HS class. Movies were developed using either iMovie or Pinnacle software. Podcasts were created from student research papers and were produced with Garageband. Podcasts are at the bottom of the page. Please allow a little time for some of the movies to load. You need Quicktime to watch these great projects.
