The Need

Click here for more info about Juarez and its needs.

Building Homes for the Poor

In 5 days your team of 10-25 can complete the construction of a 450 sq. ft. home for a family that would otherwise have little hope of permanent, stable housing.  These beautiful homes have 2 bedrooms, 1 greatroom/kitchen, 4 windows, 1 door, and ceiling fans in each room.  Each home is insulated and finished with drywall on the interior and stucco on the exterior.  The concrete slab is poured in advance by our team of Mexican nationals.

Our Focus on these trips is the development of a servant’s heart and a learner’s mind as we seek to become the Hands of God (Manos de Dios) ministering in a life-changing way to the most pressing needs of some of the poorest of Mexico’s poor.  The lack of adequate housing is on e of the key factors in the breakdown and disintegration of many families in the colonias of Juarez.  Home building seeks to attack the cause of the problem at its root rather than dealing with its myriad symptoms of broken families and damaged children.

Our teams are hosted in safe and clean retreat facilities by caring and hospitable local congregations.  These facilities are staffed 24/7, secured with walls and gates, contain dining, meeting, recreation, and worship areas.  They also come complete with beds, air conditioning, and hot showers.

Our trips are all-inclusive.  We provide local housing, local transportation, and meals during your stay.  We feel that engaging your host culture’s cuisine is a vital part of any cross cultural experience, so our menu features a variety of tasty Mexican specialties. (Spicy chile salsa is optional, but highly recommended!)
