Saturday August 14, 2010; 4-6:00pm: SuperNatural Hike SOUTH.  We’re going for a fascinating hike through the dunes of Jones Beach with Biologist Eric Powers, keeping an eye out for migrating birds and butterflies.  As if that’s not enough you’ll be treated to an inspiring reading by famous Psychic Daniel Akner!  This particular hike honors the Spirits of the South (harmony, peace, personal space) according to some Native American Indian beliefs.  Advance registration required at 631.241.0088. Thursday August 19, 2010; 6:30-7:30pm: Google Earth Expedition.  Geared for young adults but open to all, as we explore our local environment virtually!  We’ll fly all over discovering features of the place we call home.  You’ll gain a new appreciation for this long thin stretch of sand...Long Island.  Sign up for free through Hauppauge Public Library at 631.979.1600.

    1. Saturday Sept 25, 2010; 3-5:00pm: SuperNatural Hike WEST. Forests and wetlands have always been great sources of wildlife and we’ll be on the lookout for just that.  In honor of ancient Native American beliefs we’ll be honoring the spirits of the West (change, impermanence, ancestors) and famous Psychic Daniel Akner will give readings for each attendee, but you will walk away from this with so much more!  Advance registration required at 631.241.0088.     2. Sunday September 25, 2010; 11am-1pm: Cow Harbor Day Parade!  Yes, Eric will be marching in this year’s Parade with the Long Island Returned Peace Corps Volunteers.  Come and cheer us on, and enjoy the entire day in the Northport area.  It’s guaranteed fun for the whole family!

Sunday October 24, 2010; 10-11:30am: Reptile Petopia with Ranger Powers.  Come see what animals I’ve brought with me today!  Also, BRING your OWN animals from home!!!  A great way to share our love for our pets!  Fun and highly educational, you’ll get lots of close-up looks at animals so bring your camera and your sense of adventure.  Sign up at South Shore Nature Center, 631.224.5436.

Sunday October 24, 2010; 2-4:00pm.  SuperNatural Hike NORTH.  Looking to the ancient spirits of the North (humility, analysis) as our inspiration, we’ll be hiking the beautiful grounds of Sands Point Preserve (Nassau) for fall colors as Mother Nature prepares for winter.  Joining us will be esteemed Psychic Daniel Akner to provide tarot readings for all attendees and connecting us to the spirit world for our messages from beyond.  Advance registration required at 631.241.0088. $65 per person.
