Summary
A Farewell to Arms is the enthralling tale of a young American Red Cross ambulance driver in Italy, during World War I. This novel written by author Ernest Hemingway was an instant hit and was made into a film twice, once in 1932 and again in 1957. Ernest Hemingway when asked to comment on these two movies showed dislike for both of them. Our purpose is to promote a new version of the film coming out the summer of 2008 that was created with input from the author.
For those of you wondering, this website was created for a college English project, and is not intended to promote an actual film. It is solely to honor one of America’s great literary writers of our history, and our purpose is to share his works with others. Hemingway left a legacy of great works that are still taught and used in high schools and colleges across the world. His extraordinary contributions to literature are as relevant today as when he created them, and will continue to inspire future generations. This website is just one of the many that strive to keep his work alive.
