CHESS CLUB
Chess on Wed. 11th November 2009.
Start 6.00pm
Coaching 6.15 - 6.40pm.
Pete's
Bishop.
We are the hosts for the return match between us
and Napier for the Pete's Bishop trophy.
Players be there please at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start.
Our team is
Chris, Dave Burridge, Brent, Murray, Bailey Sadlier, Brian and George.
Congratulations.
We lost the away game 4.5 - 2.5, but we will be at
home this time.
Napier wants our youngsters to be there which is
good, but of course a contest of this nature has to be conducted
in silence. Noise is distracting. Feel free to
play quietly or watch the best we have playing their utmost to
win. Most games should finish about 9.00 - 9.30pm. Tea and
coffee will be available.
Our President will open the event and as TVOne and the Dominion will be there for this
very special sporting event I suggest the two Captains have their winning and
losing speeches ready for the after match post mortem.
Sadly this day will also be the last one for Dave Burridge who is returning to Christchurch in
a few days time. Best wishes for the future Dave. I haven't actually
played you, which is to be regretted.
Simultaneous
last week. Chris won all his games. Fortunately for him one of the
youngsters - who was a Rook and Bishop up - had to go home with the game
unfinished! It was bedtime.
Best wishes to our team.

Bailey please
