Welcome to my Laser Processing Laboratory Web Site
Welcome to the fascinating world of laser-material interactions. This is a dynamic discipline which progresses rapidly from both, the science and technology points of view. It needs the support and involvement of laser and optics specialists, from one end, as well as chemists, materials scientists and physicists, from the other. Although the laser emission parameters are very important for the processes envisioned in our discipline, they are not alone. Materials physico-chemical properties play a fundamental role in the type of processes that are plausible to realise via irradiation of a substrate.
The purpose of this website is to illustrate and provide information (if duly authorised) about the processes that we have developed during the last two decades at the Laser Processing Laboratory of the Materials Science Institute of Aragón (CSIC-Univ. Zaragoza). Our Institute (ICMA) is a joint Centre founded and supported by the Spanish National Research Council-CSIC (www.csic.es) and the University of Zaragoza (www.unizar.es).
Our Laser Processing Laboratory is located at the Torres Quevedo Building, Centro Politécnico Superior de Ingenieros Site of ICMA. More details are also given in our Consolidated Laser Research Group Webpage (www.unizar.es/icma/depart/laser/laser.htm?menu=mcpf).
PLEASE NOTE THAT MOST OF THE MATERIAL PRESENTED IN THIS SITE IS THE PROPERTY OF LPL-ICMA. ANY USE OF IT REQUIRES A PROPER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. My research group’s mission encompasses the laser-material interaction in a diversity of regimes. For such purpose we use both, continuous wave (cw) and pulsed (Q-switched) lasers.
We study mainly, although not exclusively, laser induced surface modification and/or bulk transfor-mation of ceramics, metals and alloys.
You are most wellcome to search through this web site, and I hope you will find it interesting. Please contact me if you would like more information on any of these topics.
