The BOYS are OUT & ABOUT!

Feb 14, 2008 - We received the best news from the doctors today. The boys are now ALLOWED to venture out! Yes, it is true, we could hardly believe it ourselves. The boys don’t have to wear masks either! However, there are few limitations:

*We still need to try an avoid sick kids or people for that matter.

*We can go to public places, BUT during less crowed times (during the weekdays, off hours, etc.)

*They MUST wear sunscreen and should only be out for ONLY 20-30 min. max. They are very susceptible to sunburns because of the medications and transplant. If we do go outside, we can go in the morning or later in the early evening when the sun isn’t as hot.

*Any children who have received the MMR (mumps, measles & rubella) vaccination need to keep at bay for at least a month. Because it is a live vaccination or air born, we have to be x-tra cautious.

*If you have pets, we need to stay away, otherwise we can come and play! Sorry!

We will still take anti-bacterial wipes everywhere, just in case; we are a little O.C.D. now. We are very excited for the boys to have some real social interaction. The places we CAN go are: to church, the zoo, the mall, the park, other people’s houses, well... almost anywhere. Now that we’ve had the O.K., we are still a little hesitant to venture out too far. It’s hard when they’ve been confined for so long to just switch to a new life style. I’m sure we’ll be taking our time. But, happier days are ahead!

The pictures below are from Laura’s B-day. We took Laura out and went to Pink’s Hot Dogs as well as Sprinkles Cupcakes last Saturday. YUM! We had a great time. The boys, of course, stayed in the car the whole time. They still loved it.
