Elves received him. They enchanted that child with magic most strong. They gave him might to be the best of all knights. They gave him another thing that he should be a rich king. They gave him the third that he should long live. They gave to that kingly child virtues most good. That he was most generous of all men alive. This the Elves him gave. Just because you grow up, doesn’t mean that you have to grow old. Information regarding the Ethereal Realms is plentiful and found everywhere, whether called Tirnan Og, Neverland, Eden, Avalon, Hesperides, Elysium, Em Hain, or Middle Earth. By opening ourselves to the possibilities of a Faery realm, we invite color, creativity and enchantment back into our lives. “I believe in Faeries and Elves. I believe in trees that speak and caverns that lead to nether realms. I know there are dragons and princesses and wisdom in all things. My world is full of color and joy and wonder.” An individual who never slept or slept very little is one who may have set across faery borders. Anyone whose dreams are disturbed by images strand and enticing could have been touched by faeries. Faeries, also known as the Little People, the Green Men, etc., and Elves are Mother Natures Children. They are many sided as nature, vary in size, form and personality. The term “faerie”, is from the Latin, Fatum or Fate. In France, “Feer”, from Feer came the English, “Fee” and the word Faerie, which encompassed both the art of enchantment and the whole realm in which Faere was. “Elf”, this from the Scandinavia and Teutonic languages. In Scandinavia the word of Elves was “Alfar”, which would reflect spirit, the mountains, forests and were many beings in many forms. Many worked and lived together with humans, they assisted in helping with crops, taught Luna and Solar cycles of planting. Eventually humans quit listening and they would become tame and the FAERIES became more elusive. As forests were claimed and cleared so began the withdrawal of the faeries. Humans cut the links that tied them to the real world of faeries. Many doors have closed, and most of the Faerie worlds have withdrawn completely. They left the woods, and some adapted to human life, while others are to be found were nature is alive and active. Others have gone down deep underground. There are still House Spirits and Brownies. Dark Elves are found in basements & attics. Every tree and flower still has its spirits and very wood has its Lady of the Wood. Trolls can be seen in ditches and hanging from underneath bridges where nature is freest and most wild Faeries and elves are most numerous. Today the Faerie realm is not so accessible, shadow lands still lie hidden in countryside’s, but never clearly seen and any opening in sea or land may mark the benders of enchantment; these could be pools, lakes, or caverns. It may be in the bend in the road or an intersection. Children, poets, seers & healers often find them without realizing. Faery society are described as matriarchal; each community of Troop Faeries are ruled by a Faery Queen. The entire race is ruled by Queen Titania & Prince Oberon whose court is located somewhere near Straford-on-Avon in England. Titania is a moral being but Oberon is an ardent lover who spreads has favors among faery and mortal maidens. Experiencing the Faery Realm: If you have ever seen a flash of light, sudden movement out of the corner of your eye, ever seen flickers of light from your houseplants, when outside felt that the woods were watching you, ever felt uncomfortable in your basement or attic, or dark areas of your house, as a child couldn’t sleep if the closet door was open, see a child with an imaginary playmate, ever walked in an open filed and had a spider web or cobwebs brush your face, ever hear music form nowhere, your dreams are set in the outdoors and fields, ever encountered anyone outside in the woods but to turn around again and they were gone, ever found things in your house moved to somewhere else, ever found yourself outside and suddenly sleepy, feel the weather change before it does, your favorite times of the day are dawn & dusk and your favorite time of the year are autumn and spring, then you’re probably experienced the Faery Realm and didn’t realize it.
