After an intensive week of friendly but fierce competition, three winners in each age group emerged. In both groups, players from Korean won the championship, followed by players from China for the second places, then players from Taiwan for the third places.
The organizer would like to thank Mr. Roland Crowl for personally delivering the GO equipment all the way from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Boston. I was deeply moved when I saw him waiting for me at the hotel entrance.
Thanks also go to Mr. Wu Zhao-Yi, Sung-Ho Baik, Shimpei Kuwamoto, Fu-Jiu Wu and Yu-Chia Yang for volunteering to play simultaneous games with youth players and local Go enthusiasts. Special thanks go to senior players Siong Hwai Ong, Zhang Hao and William Zhou for spending long hours putting together the results.
It was a wonderful event and the organizer hopes everybody carries away a good memory and friendship developed over the week.
Last but not least, I would like to thank my two wonderful nieces, Huei-Ching and Keng-I Lin for their hard work and attention to details. Without them, this event would not have been a success.
Saiyonara.
