Welcome
Heart to Hand Ministries, Inc. was started in November 1992 by Woody Wolfe, Jr. and a few friends, after Woody had spent nearly eleven years visiting hospitalized children in a children's hospital in his home town. Initially, Woody found that music was a way to give these kids back a piece of their childhood that is so often snatched from them in these situations. They have to grow up quickly to deal with everything that is involved with their care. He soon found out that if you brought smiles and laughter back into a child's life, you did the same for the whole family. He also knew how important spiritual support was for these patients and families who often felt trapped in the hopelessness of their situations.
Woody now ministers weekly in four Pennsylvania hospitals. They are the Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville, Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He also makes regular visits to Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, Carilion Community Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia and Palmetto Richland Cancer Center in Columbia, SC and, for twenty-five years, has provided music for various special need/medical camps in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri and Hawaii.
In addition to hospital outreach, Heart to Hand has been involved in outreach to orphaned children. and those with special medical needs, of Ukraine since Woody’s first visit there in 1998. For more info on the Ukraine Projects, click here.
