1) Forces are always somewhat to the side ...
often an extreme range of motion.
2) Forces always come from one leg.
Two-legged power exercises may
have little impact on skating.
3) Knees are bent more than other sports.
4) Plyometrics are different than for sprinters ... all squat jumps.
In skating we have no need to touch and leave the surface quickly as sprinters’ do.
Our goal is to bend the knees
and generate as much power as possible with each jump
