Elkin Zapata, founder and owner, is originally from Medellin, Colombia. He was raised in Lancaster, PA, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Pennsylvania’s Lock Haven University. He later attended Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he received a Master’s Degree in International Relations. Elkin has been a resident of South Beach since 1989. Ratner Quintana, originally from Cuba, serves as the Graphic Designer and Store Manager. Ratner, is an accomplished artist, graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale with a degree in Graphic Design. Ratner has been a team member of Words since 2002.
