Since 2002, as the collaborative art duo 2boys.tv, we have created multidisciplinary performances, videos and installations exploring the intersection of illusion, imitation and authenticity within metaphorical, technological and very real environments. Political expression rolled into subversive forms is key to our practice as we infuse our compositions with the shameless desire to emancipate the powerless and displaced within and among us.
As an artistic duo we share authorship on all projects and work from a tradition of artistic expression that cuts across artistic disciplines. Our practice, which is embodied by the artist creator, results in artworks whose forms are determined by their core ideas and central passions. With a critical eye to popular and historical narratives and through the use and reconfiguring of samples to concoct new stories, we generate work that defies classification. Our practice has enabled us to cross cultural and institutional boundaries and to engage in vital dialogue with audiences and colleagues at home and abroad.
