A Letter from the President - June, 2009
June, 2009
To WKCR Families,
I'm glad to announce that WKCR has reached a milestone year, 20 years of
racing! WOW! We should all be proud of ourselves for the great support we put
into our club. This includes all past officers and families as well as sponsors of
WKCR for the past 20 years.
I would like to thank all sponsors that support our club (Series, Class, Race, State, and ad
sponsors). This is what keeps our books full and helps make kids racing possible. If you have
not been a state sponsor in the past, it's a great way to show your support to the club (see
Sponsor Program link for details). Another option you have as a race family is to make other siblings that don't race members. In return, your child will get their picture in the yearbook, a state shirt, goody bags each week of racing, banquet gifts, and a free dinner at the banquet. We are still in need of advertisements for our yearbook. Families are encouraged to get ads from your area to fill our books (see Program Ads link). Just ask...the worst they can say is "no."
We as a club have decided to add another class to our club, Super Stock 120. This makes a total of 17 classes and gives kids more opportunities to race (their 120 Stock sled with minor adjustments) and have fun. Any questions, feel free to contact me or any WKCR Officer.
I want to remind everyone to have a safe and fun race year. Remember to use great sportsmanship both on and off the track. This is a group for kids, and as parents, we hear our kids repeating what we sometimes say. We know kids need as much positive in their lives as they can get these days. Not every decision goes the way everyone wants, but bite your tongue...enjoy your club. This is your club - you joined it.
Finally, I'd like to take this time to say "thank you" for giving me the opportunity to be WKCR's President and for the great support I get from past and present officers and members. Remember, we are still learning, and I am open to all suggestions, help, and complaints (only if you have a solution for it - ha ha). LET'S RACE & HAVE FUN!
Sincerely,
Tony Miller
