Welcome to my world.  Wine bars have captured my attention and I hope to share this world with you.  Wine bars are as varied as wine, each offering patrons their own vision and atmosphere.  The atmosphere is key.  I have walked two blocks between places and changed atmosphere by miles.  After taking people with me, I learned that everyone has their own take on the same places.  The combination of everything makes or breaks the wine bar.  It is truly all about the atmosphere.

This site is tied to Decant and Rant.  These pages are associated directly with wine bars around this country and soon the rest of the world.  Some places have been visited and others are just noted from the web.  Please provide me with any information you have concerning wine bars and I will add or investigate as needed.

Wine bars, by my definition, focus on wine and have a unique selection.  Some places are a combination of wine shoppe and wine bar.  These places focus more on a wide range of bottles.  Some places are tasting rooms where the per glass selection changes weekly.  These places are great ones to find and try different wines each week.  My opinion of what makes a great wine bar is the simple definition of the two main words - bar and wine.  If it’s a bar atmosphere with wine overtones, then it’s a true wine bar.

Wine bars will offer tastings, classes or music.  Some offer a full menu and some just cheese.  Each place is different and each bring something different to the wine table.  Check out what I have found in the visited wine bar section and you will see what I am talking about.  Thanks for visiting - Nick.

When you find yourself in Kansas City, I believe The Wine Bar will be a welcome stop.  Information gathered by readers prove this to be true.  The most interesting part is the self-serve cuvee system.  Check out their website for more details
