Frank just got back from a week-long visit in Aceh. He went there to do some preliminary prep of a possible surf clinic to take place early next year (end of January/beginning of February). He has gotten in touch with guys in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, and even Australia about this outreach. There are even two surfboard shapers and a filmographer that are excited to get involved. He had a great time with some of the local surfers and they were stoked about the idea as well. God continues to bring about new and creative ways to bridge the gap with this area of the world. Frank came home encouraged about the positive way the idea was received, but had a bit of a tough time being hungry the whole week he was there. (It is the middle of Ramadan, the month of fasting, for the Muslim community there.) He woke up to eat with them at 4 am and then ate again at 6:30 at night. It was a “cultural experience” to say the least and challenged him a lot, in a good way. He is happy and full to be home, in more ways than one.
Please pray for this potential future outreach opportunity. And if you would like to give or get involved in this surf clinic idea please email us at winasia4him@yahoo.com.
