Mamie Till was a Chicago Project guest speaker for three years starting in the Spring of 2000. The first time we met with her she had recently experienced the passing of her husband Gene Mobley just two weeks prior. Ms. Mobley sat and talked to us in her living room in depth about her life, her son Emmett, his murder and the effect it had upon herself and the nation.
When she was finished with her formal presentation that day, we continued to talk with her and she showed the students her collection of family pictures, including many of the original pictures that are now internationally known of Emmett.
