The past 24 hours have taken MoreWillie.com from a small personal website to a enormously linked monster. From me getting excited about 250 hits a day to me almost peeing in my pants when I realized I had over 30,000 hits by 8 o’clock today. And I was interviewed and featured on PayPerPost.com. Anyways...besides that...I submitted my article Crucial Mac Software: College Edition to one of the most popular news sites around...Digg.com. I didn’t think much of it..maybe it will help some people out, but when I checked the site today. What do I see on the main page?
That’s right...FRONT PAGE! TOP STORY! I almost crapped in my Depends. After this, all hell broke loose and I experienced the Digg effect to the fullest. Random IM’s...Random EMails...Random Facebookings...Tons of Comments...Links from a TON of other sites including Del.icio.us...AND...over 30,000 hits between 11am and 8:30 pm. I even had to upgrade my bandwidth so my site wouldn’t go down...Here are the last Digg and Statcounter pictures I took...
If you can’t tell...my site got blown away today. I had more hits in one day than I have had the entire time my site has been up. I beat out my dad’s site, surgicaltools.com. I am still in a little bit of shock about the whole thing. I always wanted to make Digg’s front page, but I never thought it would be an article that I had written. I have had so many cool people IM me and email me and I won’t lie. I am loving every second of it. I mean over 1,500 people dugg my article. That is pretty damn good! Anyone want me to write or do any tech consulting? Or any good looking women? Now I just have to get my own series on HBO...Oh wait...I do...Trailer here.
