GUTS! DO DO DO DO YOU HAVE IT?
So me and my friend John were hanging out watching t.v. when he mentioned Guts! Yes, one of the most amazing shows ever created. I thought it was off the air. I was wrong. Nickelodeon has a network called GaS (Games and Sports for Kids), which is pretty much just a bunch of old, kick ass shows....Nick Arcade, Finders Keepers, Legend of the Hidden Temple, and of course Guts! come on every afternoon and on into the wee hours of the morning. This completely renewed my spirits last week when I was writing papers and studying. Nothing boosts moral like 30 minutes (or 2 hours) with Mike O’Malley and Moira Quirk (Mo!).
For those who don’t remember, let me break it down for you. Guts! was the kids equivalent to American Gladiators, but way sweeter. Three kids competed in 4 extreme events before having to conquer the radical rock...the AGGRO CRAG! (later it was the mega cragg and the super aggro crag).
You may be thinking, why risk your life in crazy events like Off Da Wall, Totally Tubular, and Skurfin’ Safari...well the answer is simple...to take home a glowing piece of the radical rock! That’s right, the winner, along with bragging rights for life and any chick he wanted, got to take home his very own piece of the Aggro Crag!
Guts! later evolved into Global Guts! which featured kids from around the world, but with the same great hosts and thrilling excitement of the original. A video game was even made based on this hallmark of television history...
I have been searching to find a piece of the radical rock online, thinking that a winner might put one up on eBay. No luck, obviously they all realize the great power that these objects possess. It is almost impossible to even find an picture of the trophy online and I have yet to find a recent one.
I did, however find some great quotes from Mike O’Malley and Mo.

Now, during their climb each player must light up each of seven targets located on their side of the crag. The first player to light up all of their targets, including the final one at the peak of the crag, will take First Place points. Mike?
Mike O’Malley: No ifs ands or buts, these kids go GUTS.

Get GaS, Watch Guts! Check your local listings for air times. Later afternoon and early, early morning here...If they would only bring back Wild and Crazy Kids now....anyways, on to my life...
