The tree is up and decorated. The lasagna is made. The artichokes are prepped. The gifts are wrapped. Almost. And the red wine is breathing. The holidays are officially here. 

I say holiday instead of Christmas not because I try to be politically correct, but because I’m tired of hearing “Christ is the reason for the season.” He isn’t. The December 25th tradition came from pagan ritual and didn’t even start until sometime around 350 AD. 

And did you really think everyone made the trek on foot to Bethlehem and slept in a manger during the bitter winters that Jerusalem gets?
