Public Safety First Initiative  2009 - I001

 
 

The Public Safety First Initiative (“PSFI”) seeks to raise the minimum number of Police Officers from the current 1.8 per 1,000 residents to 2.4 per 1,000 residents over a five year period. It also seeks to insure that our Firefighters and Emergency Medical Service personnel respond to emergency calls within nationally recognized time frames (phased in over a four year period of time).


Currently, the PSFI Committee is in the process of gathering the required number of signatures so that this matter can be included on the General Election Ballot this coming November. Please contact the Committee to arrange for a volunteer to make a presentation on the Initiative, or to locate a petition passer so that you can help bring this very important issue to the voters.
