WRFC

Warning

Players-
Ben Apel- Has played for two seasons. He plays Lock Forward. And if there weren’t any side effects. He would take steroids.

Casey Bage- Casey is a first year player, who plays everywhere from flanker to wing. Casey loves to have tea parties with his Hello Kitty dolls.

Robert “Sippy Cup” Blodgett- 2 years experience. Plays hooker. He is a NAIA boat racer (recently picked up for a semi-pro squad)

Shawn Cigliano- 2 years experience. He played Inside Centre, and survived an entire year solely off of PBR.

Jonnie "Sancho" Couwenhoven - Jonnie is playing his first year of Rugby
EVER. He is as Green as the green strip on the mexican flag, hence the
name
"Sancho", which is only temporary until a better name is found. This guy
is  tough as nails though, playing prop / 8-man / inside center / kicker.
Lacks any kind of endurance, but keeps getting better looking every day!!

Chris “Jafar” Darnell- Chris is in his second season with WRFC.  His favorite Disney character is Jafar. He ate a bug once.

Drew Entler- Drew started at hooker until he broke his leg 5 minutes into the first game of the season. There is no truth to the rumor that he asked the doc to set his foot at an angle to help him hook. A true team player - whose absence is missed by all.

Allon “Silver/Solid Snake” Freiman- Plays most of the back positions and is the back-up scrummy. There is no truth to the rumor that he needed a transfusion following his bloody nose against the Ducks last year. But, it did look pretty cool. Field Coordinator.

John Gallagher - Prop Forward, Second Year. Not related to the guy that smashes watermelons.

Colin Gardner- Disregarding his concerns about Gingervitis outbreaks, Colin plays centre for WRFC. He only did so, however, after he learned that we did not have any openings at Daywalker. Sometimes he asks to be called Kyle.

Scott Hirschberger- Plays prop and answers to the name of "Hirsch" or "Da Hirsch" in more formal settings. Starts at center for the Willamette football team. Schemes with the Hillbear to drive his roommate crazy. A Beaverton Barbarian Old Boy.

Tyler Hoecker- Wing. First year player. Faster than most. Way faster actually. Unfortunately operation to graft velcro onto his hands was unsuccessful.

Sean “Once Frosty Always Frosty” Irving- First year player. Plays prop. Good spirit for a first-year and is expected to contribute to the forward-pack. Althought his tips may have been lost he still is and always will be frosty

Nick “Mother” Knauer- This is his first year of play. He plays Lock and Number 8. His favorite cereal is Cracklin’ Oat Bran and is from the Bay Area. Co-Road Trip Coordinators.

Josh Lee- No. 8. Played rugby for the US Air Force Academy. Plays football for Willamette. May or may not sport a pony tail. If you think its funny looking, you tell him. We'd recommend against it.

Forrest Lindsay-McGinn- Plays center. Has some rugby experience. Nobody has yet been able to confirm if it was in actual games or on PS2. In any event, he seems to know what he is doing or is a really really good faker.

Garrett Metzsch- more formally known as Saucy. Yes, the stories are true. Except the one about the birthday strippers. First year player that tends to switch positions every other day. It doesn't matter to him as long as he gets to hit people occasionally...and maybe touch the ball once or twice.

Andrew Monbouquette
Known to most as Monbo - He is a corn-fed former soccer player from Nebraska. 1st Year. Plays fullback. Contrary to popular belief he is of Scots-Irish decent not Haitian.

David “Shh” Mynar - David is a second year player from Seattle Washington. He currentally plays fly-half. David has the body of the greek God, and thirsts for the ability to grow a full beard

Kyle Nakashima- Nicknamed "Knock". Second year player at fullback. Thinks he can tackle, pass, kick, catch and run like the wind. Subject to hallucinations. Has an over under on how long it will take him to get hurt (usually 5 minutes).

Justin Olnes- First year player. Backs "Knock" up at fully, thus earning him the nickname "Knock-Knock" and  subjecting him to cheers of  "Who's There?" whenever he touches the ball. Favorite international rugby team is Wales.

Louis Pappas- Played a game of touch once in England, and watched the Six Nations religiously. Is a back he thinks. Still has a babytooth.

Tom “T-Bone” Pearson- Flanker, 1 year experience with Willamette Rugby, Played music on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Alumni Director.

Dennis Plzak- Dennis is a 1st year player who plays flanker and prop. He is an avid supporter of the purple teletubie. Dennis feels that he should get more air time than he does.

Cameron “Bam-Bam” Ramey- Second year player. Has played most of the back positions and now calls the open or strong-side flanker position home. Hits hard and likes to tackle... hence the nickname "Bam-Bam"

Luke “Crash Vandicoot” Russell- First year player. Thinks he multi-talented by playing both lock and second row. He is so happy, we  don't have the heart to tell him, they're the same position. Can't act relaxed in a team photo. Favorite TV show is Hogan's Heroes.

Charlie Sandbo- Charlie is a first year prop. He scored his zulu try on a 40 metre breakaway against PSU. Charlie is a Tigard, Oregon native and can spell WRFC.

Stephen Scott- This is his third year playing Rugby. He has played Lock, Flanker, Fly-Half, and currently plays Scrum Half. He started this program at Willamette. He did a Zulu while his whole family was watching. Seems to always finish last in congeniality contest. Team Captain.

Behzod Sirjani - 1st Year WFRC player who floats between outside center and back, and is often yelled at by an angry Tom Pearson for being out of position. He is involved in way too much at Willamette and uses Rugby as a time to unwind.

Harry “Wolf-Man” Thomas- Harry is a second year player at locke. He is related to the Wolf from American Gladiators. Harry’s part time job is to wax the Wolf’s chest.

Evan “Tweedl-dee Turner- First year player. Is around 6 ft. 5 in. Plays prop and second row. Looks really good walking onto the pitch, is expected to build on that entrance throughout the season.

Evan “Tweddle-dum Weeks- Evan who speaks fluent Klingon says that he is playing rugby to evaluate his interest in the Peace Corps. He plays lock, or as he says in  Klingon "Gluttpuskit"

Andy “Goldberg” Wentworth- 1 year experience. is in his second year at wing for WRFC. He has the legs a
Jazz Age stripper and the facial structure to support one hell of a mustache if he is ever able to grow one. Co-Road Trip Coordinator.

Coach-
Mike Scott  Mike played rugby: for Llandaff RFC (Cardiff, Wales); University College Cardiff, and the Portland Jesters now known as ORSU. He also coaches the Beaverton Barbarians U-19 rugby team. The Barbarians were among the top three high school rugby teams in Oregon last season and the first Oregon high school club team to attend the Pacific Coast Invitational at Stanford.

Mike is a partner of the construction and design law firm Scott-Hookland LLP which has offices in Tigard and Eugene.

Ben Becker- Also known as "Wolverine". Ben is an assistant coach for WRFC and helps out during practice. Unlike  Coach Mike, he is actually ambulatory, can demonstrate the drills, does not have gout and is able to weigh in at some thing other than a truck scale.

Phil Wilson joins the WRFC coaching staff as its forwards coach. Phil played collegiate rugby at Oregon State and Eastern Washington. Phil considers rugby to be a game won by the folks wearing the jersey numbers 1 - 8. Well, at least until we told him that someone ripped off our No. 8 jersey last year and the WRFC eightman now wears No. 19 or 23 or whatever number we can scrounge up. Phil's numerical prejudices seemed to have waned a tad, although he did also alert Dog the Bounty Hunter about the "missing" No. 8 jersey.http://www.scott-hookland.com/shapeimage_3_link_0
