Democracy Births New Vehicle
Aug.26,2007 (Toronto) - Coalition of Independent Candidates is pleased to announce the official launch of their new website! Canadians will now have an alternative to party politics. Independent candidates means freedom!

In answer to the cries for accountability, transparency and real democracy, COIC has launched the vehicle for Canadians who want to be change, rather than simply hope for change. Canadians who want to eliminate the unnecessary middle man are seeking the direct path to their MP. ‘What do we need the party for?’

Canadians are saying,‘we need political party relief’ and COIC agrees. Most Canadians do not have a middle man between themselves and their bosses, why should MP’s?

Catherine Whelan Costen, spokesperson for COIC invites Canadians to explore their options in seeking a truly democratic tool for governance. COIC is a vehicle for presenting candidates who are truly free to act in the best interest of Canadians. Not all independents will be COIC candidates, however all COIC candidates will be independent.

COIC was formed to offer Canadians a tool to assist in running in an election for the purpose of representing the people of their riding, within a sovereign free nation. Only those willing to accept the COIC Charter, will be accepted as members and featured on our website. The Charter is available to the public to review at www.coic.ca We are providing the outlet to display candidates’ profiles, to share common problems and brainstorm for real solutions. We are the people’s vehicle without the party red-tape. We encourage Canadians to review our website and assist us in this new concept.
