Snow geese

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we visited the Merced National Wildlife Refuge.  The sights and sounds of the sandhill cranes, snow geese and other birds were awesome!

With the good moon phases for Friday sunset and Saturday sunrise I had many good opportunities.  Bird photography is not exactly my specialty, but it was fun to see what I could pull off.  I made about 800 images, which included many experiments and follies!

There are a few good ones, and so this is the first in a series I will post as I work on the files.
