W.I.N. - Whidbey Island Nourishes is a program designed to help meet the nutritional needs of those who have food insecurity in the South Whidbey Island community.

Whidbey Island Nourishes intends to reduce hunger in our community by providing a sack lunch at no cost to anyone desiring a meal, especially children. Over 23% of the students in school from K.-12 need help with consistent nourishment and WIN provides this help on non school days throughout the year.

Our goal is to offer complete and nutritious meals. Each lunch includes a meat and cheese or vegetarian sandwich, fresh fruit, carrot & celery sticks, a pasta or rice salad and sometimes a treat.

All of our delicious food is prepared with care by volunteers. The Langley Middle School has generously donated kitchen space in the home economics room for this community based program.

Our funding comes from the members of our community in the form of financial support and in-kind donations of ingredients.

$2.00 supplies one complete meal

$20.00 supplies 10 complete meals

$50.00 supplies 25 complete meals

$100.00 supplies more than 50 meals!

The lunches are available at:

  1. BulletGood Cheer Food Bank at Bayview on Grimm Rd.

  2. BulletIsland Coffee House & Books at the S.W. Commons

We welcome and need volunteers to help prepare the meals. You do not have to be a chef to help…there are many tasks that only require willingness and a heart to help others in our community.

We would like to thank our fiscal sponsoring agency, the Good Cheer Food Bank for providing us with food, administrative and organizational assistance.
