Columbus Diocese requirements for religious education
The parents are responsible for educating their children in the Catholic faith.  They are required to keep a log of hours of instruction with a brief description.  Click here (convert ‘here’ to hyperlink) to download the log approved by our parish.
 
The Columbus diocese expects 40 hours of religious instruction and faith formation.  
Diocesan requirements can be met by any combination of the following:
    Class room instruction, e.g., traditional PSR, 26 hours total for Grades 1 through 7
    Homeschool instruction
        Using parish approved materials and resources
    Sacramental preparation
        First reconciliation workshops; 3, 2-hour workshops
        First communion workshops; 4, 2-hour workshops
    Mystery retreats
        November, January, March, May
        Grades 2-8
    Saints Alive Kids Club
    Family Nights
        November: Saints
        January: Epiphany
        February: Lent
        April: Liturgy
        May: Devotions
    On-Line Learning
        Faith First series including text books for each grade level and the at home guide
 
 
Our parish will issue completion certificates to those who meet the requirements
