Nature Coast 2008

Well, 2008 has started well for Kingsforth Hall Training Center. With the ability to drive multiple entries at an Horse Driving Trial (HDT), Wendy and I took six horses/ponies to the show, plus our working student/help drove the horse she is leasing. We ended up with the following results:
Wendy was won advanced single horse marathon, and finished fifth overall with Duke; best training dressage and first overall, training single horse with Ditto, a horse I bred; second overall prelim single pony with Kiko, an Irish Sport pony Wendy imported inutero.
I drove Dante advanced single horse. He was third in dressage, second in cones and, due to a couple errors on my part, second on marathon, for a first place overall placing. I also drove my two hackney ponies, Penton and Guzzi, in their first show at training pair pony. They were really super all the way through, even surviving thunderstorms and freezing temps the next morning. With no opposition, their first placing is not as obviously great, but their scores and performance were excellent.
Lindsey, driving Dragon who is coming back after an injury, had a great show too. She was second in dressage, one ball down in cones, and less than two points from second in marathon to place second overall.
Students Sammi Orem and June Kingsley had good showings. Sammi had an uncontested win at Advanced single pony, and June had a bad go in cones, but good dressage and marathon to end up in sixth place.
