A Little Cheese With That Whine?
Ever wake up in the morning and just feel like picking a fight with someone? One guaranteed way to do that is to go on a Walt Disney World message board and say that you had a terrible experience at one of the resorts - it doesn’t matter which one.
If you pick value resorts, you’ll be accused of being a snob, and if you pick a deluxe, people who would rather shoot themselves than stay anywhere else will all come out to tell you that whatever happened to you was your fault, not Disney’s.
Once, a woman posted that her passport was stolen from her room safe at Wilderness Lodge. 10% of the posters sympathized with her , 40% told her that she never should have left the passport there in the first place, and the other 40% pretty much called her a liar, suggesting she made the whole thing up. For one reason or another, most people felt that Disney had done nothing wrong.
God forbid you should complain about the “mousekeeping” (that’s what they call WDW housekeeping) - they’ll say your expectations are too high. Magical Express didn’t bring your luggage to your room until the next day? The people in the next room are having all night keggers and keeping you up all night? Your bill is wrong?
Your fault, your fault, and your fault. And you are probably only complaining to get something free from Disney.
I remember years ago posting on a message board about my bad experience at one of the moderate resorts. There was a mistake on my bill that took months to get cleared up. I must have called resort management a dozen times, each time promised by a manager that they would “take care of it right away”. But they didn’t. I was frustrated and went to people who I thought would understand, Disney message board folks. One guy asked if I wanted “ a little cheese with my whine”. Others accused me of making the complaint just to get some kind of compensation from WDW. Some thought it was somehow my error and others just didn’t think it was “anything to get so upset about. After all, it that’s all it takes to ruin my vacation, I must be a shallow person indeed.”
Oh well. I learned my lesson the hard way. Many hard core WDW fans see Disney as an infallible entity.
But the fact is, WDW is not pixie perfect. It’s a company, a big one, and it makes mistakes. If you have a problem I recommend being very aggressive in making your complaint.

I’d do it in writing through snail mail. I’ve heard that they are less likely to respond to email.
Also, contact resort management. This website has all the addresses.
And yes, thank you, I’ll have a little cheese with this whine.
