As if Walt Disney World weren’t amazing enough, there is a woman who made it even more so for my family and me. Her name is Jane Cartelli and she has a website called giftsofalifetime.com .She provides all kinds of surprises for all kinds of occasions that one might celebrate while on vacation at WDW. I’ve used her services twice and can’t wait to use them again.
The first time I did it for Lauren (I can’t remember what exactly we were celebrating - maybe just being at WDW!) I told Jane about Lauren’s favorite things and when we arrived at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and entered our room it had been decorated in a Tinkerbell theme, Lauren’s favorite character. It was a complete surprise for her and actually for me too, because I’m not sure how Jane arranges something like this. To be honest, I prefer to imagine her as having fairy-like magic and don’t really want to know otherwise.
The end of Lauren’s freshman year in college was a big excuse to celebrate and go to Walt Disney World. She had been on the dean’s list all year, gotten on the school newspaper, been asked to be an editor for her sophomore year, and endured the sorority girl roommate from hell. As the school year wound down, she was counting the days until our trip.
I contacted Jane and she cooked up a way to make sure that Lauren knew that that all her hard work and suffering had not gone unnoticed. Jane arranged a treasure hunt in the Magic Kingdom, and I don’t want to give away too much -- never mind, I couldn’t if I wanted to because I really to this day have no idea how she pulled it off! Anyway, I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprises for others. Let’s just say that we were flabbergasted. Is there a stronger word than flabbergasted? Because if there is that’s what we were. And uber-delighted. It was one of my favorite days ever at the Magic Kingdom. We followed the clues that Jane somehow left for us like a couple of 5 year olds, laughing and positively gleeful. At the end she found a gift that I had chosen for Lauren and Jane had purchased and planted for us, a snow globe (Lauren collects them.).
Jane has all kinds of tricks under her sleeve, like the treasure hunts, photo opportunities, room decorating, and so much more. It costs nothing to fill out Jane’s pre-event questionnaire and see what kind of magic she could work for you, but from my personal experience, whatever it is it will be fabulous.
Let’s see.... how can I get somebody to plan one for me? Jane, any ideas about that?
