I Am a Child
Back to my Arctic archives again for this triptych of three Inuit children. If memory serves, these were all taken on a school hunting trip on Frobisher Bay about 80 miles east of Iqaluit. I was fortunate to be able to go on two such trips and they were two of the most memorable experiences of my time on Baffin Island. I saw my first polar bear, shot my first and only caribou and seal and began to develop a tremendous respect for the resourcefulness of the Inuit and their relationship with the land.
I Am a Child is from Neil Young’s Live at Massey Hall 1971, remixed and released in September of 2007. For some reason it does not appear on Amazon’s play list for this album but you can hear a sample from his Decades album HERE.
