13.89 Months

Since Ellie and I are headed to Denver for a week, I went ahead and did her picture in her usual chair.

I will highlight three main things about Ellie at 14 months:

  1. We are all healed from the trauma of her fall.  I forgot about it after 24 hours, and she has been unfazed by it since about 10 minutes after it happened.  There is a slight scab/scar that is hardly visible and will probably go away with time.  It's amazing how significant it seemed at the time, but how largely insignificant this accident truly is in our lives!

  1. Though Ellie is still not walking solo, she "walks" everywhere with her walker.  She uses her walker as her vehicle all around the house and she goes out of her way to crawl over to retrieve it when she wants to move around, even though she could get there faster if she just crawled there directly.  It seems like she knows she would rather walk than crawl, but she hasn't yet figured it all out.

  1. The number of words Ellie understands and actually uses is quite impressive.  She seems to learn a new word each day.  It is a good thing that she can talk, as it seems like a skill that has greater utility than walking.
