Photo Library (Mainly Utah)
Over the past dozen years I have taken more than 8000 photographs of plants from Utah and other western states. I am working to make these available on-line, a process that will take several months. After that it may be possible to extend it and include photos submitted by other people (with proper credit). Organization is by plant family with links from English or Latin names: within each family page plants are listed alphabetically by scientific name. That means you may have to browse visually the way that is common in wildflower books - but that's a great way to discover new plants! The huge Composite family is tentatively broken down into several fairly distinct groups - visit the main family page COMPOSITES to check where your plant may fit best. Many of the place names refer to locations in the Salt Lake area. For each photo there is a label that gives scientific name, common name, place and date of photo, photographer, and a file reference. Scientific names are color-coded:

Haloragaceae
Haloragadaceae
