And someone acts six months old. At least that is what Kim keeps telling me. And I really need to grow up. Heh, we’ll see about that.
Anyhoo, this is a relatively recent update, at least compared with the last two. To be honest, I figured that it had been longer since I wrote something on here.
So let me see if I can mark off the milestones we have reached since the last entry. And, forgive me if I repeat some things that I said last time, but to be honest, it hasn’t been that long since Katie was sleeping every hour. We did go to the doctor the other day and had to fill out some survey. This survey asked a lot of questions about how she was doing, and if she could roll, and if she could push up, sit up, etc. You know me, I wanted to check 10’s on those suckers, since of course my baby is the best. But I was honest, and she’s doing fine developmentally. So I was satisfied. She also got measured and weighed again, and came in at 27.5 inches (95th%), 20 pounds 1 ounce (that is 97+th% and down a pound from last week) and 17.5 inch head (90th%). So, yes she is proportionate, but she is also on track to be 6’11” and 300 pounds. I am thinking professional wrestler. We haven’t seen a power like her since King Kong Bundy.
She rolls all over, and grabs things. She can pick up things and throw them around (usually unintentionally). She can sit up and stay up (although she can’t sit herself up - we have been doing 100 crunches a day to fix that). She gets up on her knees and rocks back and forth. We have started to baby proof in anticipation of the terror that will be.
She has had a cold for the past few weeks. Well, she has had a number of colds. All of them involve varying degrees of mucous and coughing. The poor girl doesn’t really know how to, well pardon this term, hock one up, so she can’t really clear her chest and throat. Enough with the attractive imagery. And there is another issue that I won’t bring up but will mark here so that in the future we can look back and remember the fun times.
Today we went to her first WFU football game, and after tailgating for a couple hours we managed to stay the entire first half. She was a real trooper, and wasn’t unhappy the whole time. She was really entranced (is that spelled right?) with all the people, and the noise, and had quite a flirtation sequence with William Jenkins. I tell you what, Mr. Jenkins got a little red in the face by then end of the game. But it was really cute, and after Tommy sends me the pictures, I will upload them here for all to enjoy. I can’t remember if we took some of them holding hands, but there was some of that. Little W and I are not too far from having to have a serious talk.
So, it’s been a crazy six months.
Now we just need crawling, walking, and talking. But I am OK with that taking its time.
