It looks like the last entry was that failed year filled retrospective that doesn’t even come close to reproducing properly on any other computer besides this one. So, those of you that tried to view that elaborately construed atrocity, I apologize. If you got lucky and it displayed correctly, then you got quite a treat!
Today is Easter Sunday. It is the day that celebrates the resurrection of Christ, and our transition into a new life. And on this day of new beginning, we do have quite the new life coming up this year. Katie turned 1 two weeks ago, and we had a grand celebration. Both sides of the family had 100% attendance, if I am not mistaken. We have a 1pm party and then sat outside from 4 until 1030 just enjoying each other’s company. I was tired the next day, but it was great to have everyone here, and well worth it.
I’ve been playing a lot more at church, generally 2 times a month, but last month we did three weekends in a row (one regular, one with a youth weekend, so Friday Saturday Sunday, and then an acoustic set the day after Katie’s birthday). I love it, especially since I learn so much from everyone else that are so much more experienced than me. But I am not going to be able to go with them to Poland, where they are going to spend a couple weeks playing a bunch. I am sad that this is the case, but I look forward to trying to do that if we go next year.
The work situation has greatly improved. I really like the people I work with (I liked most of the people at the old job, though, so don’t think that’s why I left), and while I still don’t really know 100% of what is going on, I think that I am not too far from getting into the “pocket.” There are some talented people there, and some generous and kind ones, and I have a lot to learn from all of them.
Oh yeah, did I mention that we are having another baby? Probably not. We are, due on Sept 11, 2007. That’s right. Let’s just say that we were a lot more effective this time and didn’t have the delays we experienced the first time. It is a blessing, and a challenge, and I don’t know what my level of sanity will be 5 months from today. I’m hoping Katie is self sufficient by then. You know, 17 months old, cooking, cleaning, going to the bathroom, helping feed the baby, and helping me with some work. Self Sufficient.
She’s walking, standing, throwing, grabbing, sorting, storing, picking up, throwing down, pulling, pushing, pulling dirty clothes from her hamper into her crib, pulling every toy out of the toy chest, actually petting Molly and not just smacking the crap out of her. It’s crazy. Ryan David Moore,my nephew, was at the house today and he weighs like 7 pounds and a few ounces. Katie was never that little. In the pictures she is 100 times bigger than him. Which makes me 100,000 times bigger than him. He’s a little red haired mohawk wearing dude. At 12 days old. Cutie.
Just to document this for future, my neighbors are annoyingly loud. Apparently they are my age but are living either a college lifestyle or a New York City lifestyle. Where you party until 4 am all the time. I have had to have a couple talks with them and they reined it in. But they have slips, and pretty soon I’m going to slip and call the cops. And they know this. I won’t feel bad. Twice in the last month I have had to go knock on the door after I have gone to bed. the other night it was 130 am. They don’t answer, they just turn off the music. This last time there wasn’t even anyone downstairs. I guess they had to turn it up to hear it in the bedroom. Ugh.
Molly had a 400$ vet visit yesterday. I think that the one 130$ test was a little crazy. Apparently her thyroid may be causing lipid deposits in her eyes. Yay for lipid eyes. That’s her new nickname. Fateye Mcgee.
We went to the Lazy 5 Ranch yesterday. For a little while everything we saw was a “Dog.” Then she realized there were a lot of different animals. You’ll see on the Picture Page. Her first word is Dah (Dog). She also says Bah (Ball) at times, and Ma Ma (Porsche 911 Turbo) and Da Da (Superman).
Well, I am going to post some pictures and then sign off. Hopefully I won’t be so slack again and get something done in the future on this site.
