Hello everyone.
I, for one, know that it has been somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 days since I last updated this. It slowly started to taper off, didn’t it? I was doing so well, I was keeping up with her. Honestly, I can’t tell you why I haven’t gotten on here in so long. There are a couple options, and let’s take them one at at time, shall we?
1) The first option is that I have been so busy with work that I haven’t had the time. There are fallacies in the argument, and they are tripartate in nature. 1a) I have been pretty busy at work, but I am not one to bring work home with me. So that can’t count. 1b) I have been preparing for a trial, but we settled that today, and to be honest I didn’t have to do much else than ramp up since we had prepared for this trial almost four months ago to the day. That time it was, of course, continued. Nothing in the law has changed since then. The jerk that was representing the other side probably actually got around to doing his job and realized that he had a good chance of getting whooped. So, of course we settled for less than we probably should have, although a bird in the hand is.... 1c) I can’t really think of a 1c, and probably just ran out of steam.
2) Katie has been so out of control that I don’t have a moment to eat much less spend time getting on this blog. This is entirely untrue (knock on wood). She is a generally happy baby and likes to smile at her silly daddy when he makes silly faces. She likes her jumper like crazy. You would think that with as much jumping as she does she would have very taught and trim thighs. But she has michelin woman thighs. Last time she went to doc, which was like 2 weeks ago, she was 26.5 inches and 18 pounds 14 ounces with a head circumference of 42 kilometers. Ok, that last one was actually a statement about me. Thankfully, while she does have the Anderson head, she does not have it to the extreme that yours truly does. She has also started eating solid foods. I think they count as solid. She has had the equivalent of pureed peas, beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, and something else. She didn’t like the beans at first. I think she is coming around. And she is still not so sure about the bananas. And between you and me, if you saw the consistency of any of this food you would be not so sure as well. She started day care last week and has taken the lead of one of the main gangs there. She rules with an iron binky, I tell you what. They put bars on those cribs for a reason.
She is doing well there. How do I know this? Because they have three cameras monitoring everything all day. All, Day, Long. And for you obsessive compulsive parents, Kim, it’s a good thing that your work bars you from seeing the website where one can view this. Some of us can exercise restraint and look a couple times a day. Others would try to watch and teach from in front of the computer screen. I guess for assurance and accountability reasons, they are grrrrrrreat! But come on.
She is almost sitting up, almost standing up when holding onto things, and almost solving for x in quadratic equations.
We have the Anderson family music hour every night from when I get home until she goes to bed. So far we have covered Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne. I’ll let you decide if I am serious or not. We do the music thing, and she loves to listen to me sing, which means I am worried about whether or not she is tone deaf. I mean seriously. Even Molly, who licks her own you know, doesn’t like to listen to my singing.
There is a new man in Katie’s life too. Roo Roo the Rooster. He must taste good, because he spends a lot of time with his foot or arm in her mouth.
Ok, we are caught up. I think.
