Compression Latch Upgrade
New Pricing! $90-set
These latches fit directly in the regular latch holes and are a retrofittable option.
They are made entirely of stainless steel and operate as a compression latch rather than the regular push-to-close.
The compression action provides a much more positive hold for the door, absolutely no way for these to come open unintentionally.
They are available with, or without a minimal security lock.
For the quality they are certainly worth it, but unfortunately each one of these (very nice) latches cost $45.
Cam Latch Upgrade $42-set
$5-ea. key core
These new cam latches provide a secure hold comparable to the compression latches, but at a considerably lower cost.
They are metal construction with a powder coated finish and have a cam tab latch that is available with or without a full tumbler key core.
The compromise is that the other latch options provide a pull ring as an integral part of their function, but because of the cam tab function of these latches, the user has to be able to grip the tab to pull the lid open.
The operation is still relatively easy, below is a video that displays the latch function.
Basic Latch
Only Available On Side Panels
These push-to-close latches are the ones that have been on the lids since I first made my own. They are cost effective, easy to operate and durable despite being constructed of plastic. My customers (and myself) have been using these without issue in a multitude of environments.
Not For Tailgates Anymore
Being the hardware junkie that I am, I have been searching for better latch options that would provide a more positive hold on the door and address customers concerns for a lock option. I have been able to put together two new latch upgrade options.
In light of the improved latch options I have decided to no longer offer the regular latches on the tailgate lids.
I can now offer a far superior grip on the door for a minimal price increase and I would like to only send out the best of my solutions.
