a place or position affording a good view of something : from my vantage point I could see the entire event unfold.  | figurative the past is continuously reinterpreted from the vantage point of the present.

Throughout my life creative expression has always come in the form of music and songwriting. As my musical career began to progress it became evident to me that in order to move forward independently in this technological world I would have to wear several hats at once. In essence, become a self sufficient production company able to create professional looking designs and graphics. So, in 2001, armed with an entry level digital camera and my trusty Mac, I began taking photos of local Southern California beaches and coastal life with the goal of using the images for  various design projects.  Creating flyers, CD/DVD covers and packaging, promotional kits, and eventually websites.

What I didn’t expect was the reaction to the photos I was using for those projects, and the enjoyment I was getting out of the process of finding the right spot for the shot - vantage points. The search for the that vantage point began to feed my creative side in a new way.

Soon my portfolio grew. The entry level camera was replaced  with a professional version; trips to Hawaii and Mexico became dedicated to photo shoots; and family and friends were increasingly more pleased with the pieces they were receiving for birthdays and Christmas. Still, it wasn’t until house guests began offering to purchase the work I had on my own walls that I decided to take the step and begin showing my photo art professionally.

I am very pleased to present this website, www.wadeshots.com, dedicated to my photography, photo art, and ongoing search for that perfect vantage point. Hopefully some of the images found here will speak to you, make you think, and you will feel positive vibes.
