The Robert Carbonaro School is an elementary school that stays current in instructional strategies and methodologies. There are 426 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. The climate is very positive and conducive to helping every student meet his/her needs to progress academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. There is a team atmosphere within the school, which includes all staff members. This is also portrayed in our relationships with all parents. We all work together to look at what is best for all students. This is also reflected in the programs that are offered such as our Inclusion Model, Early Intervention Program, Intermediate Academic Intervention Program, Challenge Program, Pride Program, Spanish Curriculum, and Operation Success Program. These programs are designed to support and enrich our students’ academic progress. Also, we offer technological opportunities that support our curriculum with the use of our wireless I Book lab and Smart Board technology.

Students are encouraged to achieve at their highest level of academic performance. We are very proud of our students. We continue to work on the Comprehensive District Educational goals, which focus on English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. We work toward exceeding the New York State Educational Standards. Social skills are fostered through an Emotional Literacy Program and a Character Education Program which focuses on anti-violence/anti-bullying; and conflict resolution lessons, which are implemented in each classroom. Students also have the opportunity to become involved in school clubs and activities that focus on leadership skills and enhance the curriculum areas such as student council, reading club, art club, and math club.

Our parents are very supportive and we have a very active PTA. Many wonderful events are planned, as well as, special lunches. We appreciate the involvement and support that our parents provide to the Robert W. Carbonaro School. This is a major key to our students’ success as they travel through their lifelong educational journey to becoming competent and productive citizens in our global society.
