I’m Vinny, and I live in Bournemouth on the South Coast of England. I love the natural world for its beauty and also for the fascinating science we can learn from it. I became interested in photography with the dawn of the digital era in 1999. I prefer digital as it’s more environmentally friendly than film (less wasteful, fewer nasty chemicals) in addition to being superior in other ways. What started as a casual hobby has now become my main passion, and I regularly take many hundreds of photos on a given outing. The majority of my pictures are from areas near Bournemouth - it’s a big advantage that there are plenty of varied habitats to be found within a relatively short distance.
