Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Pa. My first experience playing bass was in the church. My Mother had me playing along to Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke, and Isaac Hayes, while my older brother was playing Teddy Pendergrass, The O’jays, Switch, and Rick James before I was 10 years old.
I’ve played every kind of music from bluegrass and zydeco to jazz, funk, and hip hop, taking in a healthy dose of rock and pop along the way, working with musicians such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Jeff Beck, Jack Bruce, and Pete Brown, amongst many others.
I was playing Slave, Cameo, Mothers Finest, Ozzy, Kiss, and Judas priest in school. Then some other friends asked me to play Bad Brains, The Cure, Dead Kennedy’s, and Suicidal Tendencies.
