BOMBSHELL AUTHORS:  WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

A few Athena Force novels are all that remain on the Bombshell novel horizon.  And none miss them more than the authors who wrote them.  Where are those authors now?  I pulled a role call and have received these responses.  What follows is what they had to say about what they’re doing now.  Hope you enjoy the update!

  1.                                                                                                                             Blessings,

  2.                                                                                                                             Vicki

I wrote a novella for Can I Get An Amen Again, out in April 07, and my Bombshell orphan is out now, June 07,as A Serial Affair, Silhouette Romance and Suspense.   I am currently finishing another paranormal novella for Vegas Bites Back.  I have started plotting a mainstream romantic suspense and am planning a series for Silhouette Romantic Suspense.    I really miss Bombshell and the comraderie and support found here!  Wishing all of you all the best!

Right after the bomb dropped on Bombshell, I started writing a quirky mystery series about a female mortician. Since I was previously unagented, I used it to hook an agent and ended up with offers of representation from four of them. I chose Paige Wheeler of Folio Literary Management, and she's currently got the book on submission with a number of different publishing houses. Just crossing my fingers and waiting to hear something!

I’ve written a mainstream suspense novel, a supernatural genre-bender, two nonfiction books, planned a new series, a new women’s fiction novel, a series of fiction writing workshops, moved my Bombshell WAR GAMES series to Medallion Press and taken care of my infant granddaughter while her mother taught school.  It’s been wild and crazy--and fun!

I'm working an ATHENA FORCE: DISCLOSURE (poor me, I had to watch Casino Royale for the research...ran out and got the soundtrack!) And on a wacky series of what I call "kidgoth" books under the house name of Chris P. Flesh. Other things are coming up and I will be doing proposals for Tashya, who is my "new" editor now that Tara Parsons is at HQN. Looks like my last Bombshell might turn into a Nocturne, which would be great.  I miss you guys!

Judith Leon aka Judith Hand

I have a book coming out in September from Silhouette as Judith Leon, THE GOOD THIEF.  But I'm mostly writing as Judith Hand.  I'm still in San Diego and am writing fiction (seeking a publisher for a mainstream political suspense about a heroine who someone intends to assassinate....and written against the background of the heroine's run for the U.S. Presidency).  The next project is a screenplay of that novel, and after that, a sequel.  I'm not on contract...writing on spec.  As for my non-fiction about the biology of war, I keep up my website, www.afww.org, and will soon be starting a blog on the topic of war and ending war.  My personal website is: www.jhand.com.  My war-focused website is: www.AFutureWithoutWar.org

Lori A May

My next book is MOVING TARGET, January 2008, with Silhouette.  Readers can keep an eye on new works through my website: www.loriamay.com

I had Blood Son come out with Nocturne in February. I have a trilogy coming out with them that I pitched. It's a little sci-fi-ish as well as paranormal. I am wrapping up the first of the three books--had to do some rewriting because I made my heroine "too Bombshell"--sigh . . . I miss our heroines. I turned in my 2008 Red Dress Ink single title, called Freudian Slip. And I am waiting to hear on a middle-grade fantasy with a major house (fingers crossed) that I very much want to do.   Besides that, I've got the four kids--the baby (now age 2!) is talking up a storm and generally tearing my house apart every day. I am gardening, and writing some new proposals. I've also got an essay in the Everything I Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume book, and also one in Chicken Soup for the Working Mom's Soul. And I took a ghostwriting job and am doing some paid critiques because my oldest heads off to college in a year, and instead of the state school I budgeted for, she wants to go to a conservatory--she has a great shot at a music career, but she needs a new violin which we pick up in two weeks. Ladies . . . it costs more than our second car--not including the bow.

Hope everyone is having a lovely spring.
