Our school has nearly 200 computers and a 36 seat computer lab. There’s color laser printing capability in most classrooms and every classroom is networked and every computer is connected. That’s a lot of hardware!
We have staff and parents who believe in the value of integrating technology into the curriculum here at Encino Elementary. Parents contribute significantly to give the students an opportunity to use technology extensively, even at the Kindergarten level. Thank you parents! Without you, none of this would be possible!

Software Services
Accellerated Reader and STAR Reading - These two services are used extensively at our school. They are essential tools for teachers to motivate and encourage students to read. The program is based on a library of hundreds of thousands of quizzes so that almost any book our students have read has an associated test. More info at www.renlearn.com.
Study Island - Study Island is used in more than 50% of public schools nationwide to prepare students for the state standardized tests. It’s proven effectiveness persuaded us to purchase Study Island for all grades this year. More information can be found at www.studyisland.com
Renzulli Learning - Renzulli Learning is an innovative service that has been purchased by LAUSD for all schools. Renzulli uses a powerful search engine combined with the Renzulli Profiler. This gives teachers an accurate understanding of each student's academic strengths, interests, learning and expression styles. Stopmotion Animation Projects
Students can make many projects using the technology available in the lab. Among the most popular are making stop motion animation movies. Some of their can be found below.
After filming, students use iMovie to add opening and closing titles and GarageBand to add music and sound effects.
