“Why does the Jacksonville Vineyard exist?”

For Jesus. We are a community of people who are committed to follow Jesus Christ with our whole lives. This commitment has led us on a journey of learning and growing as followers of Jesus.

For Others We are a diverse community. We welcome people from all sorts of backgrounds and experiences.

In Community We desire to be a church community where the presence and power of the living God is experienced and shared in personal and practical ways.

“What kind of church do we want to become?”

We are a Jesus-brand community of compassion, healing, and hope for our city. We envision a church where lives are being built and communities are being changed by the power of God’s love. As God changes people, their new life will affect change in their families, neighborhoods, and the city.

Our mission is to be a healing and redeeming influence in our city and in our world. We want to be part of God’s work here in Jacksonville, and in the world. As we follow God on His mission, we want the passion and character of God to be displayed in our lives, in our families, and our neighborhoods.

What are some specific things that God wants to do here?

A Spiritual God is building a Spiritual Community

We believe that God wants to express his love through contemporary worship in the freedom of the

Holy Spirit, and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation, such as healing and the kinds of “signs and wonders” seen in the book of Acts.

A Loving God is building a Loving Community

God is building a community here through flawed, yet faithful followers of Jesus. As his people, we seek to build each other up in our faith journey through healthy, Christ-centered friendships, through relevant Biblical teaching, and through practical helps.

A Missional God is building a Missional Community.

God is on a relentless pursuit for a spiritual and real relationship with mankind. As a community of followers of Jesus, we are called to participate in this mission. We seek to share in this mission through ministry to the poor, widows, orphans and those who are broken; church planting at home and world missions abroad; and daily expressing God’s love and acceptance through random acts of compassion.

“What are our hopes and dreams for our Church?”

We want the city of Jacksonville to be aware that the Kingdom of God is in its midst. God is doing good things in our City, and we desire to be faithful in our part of the Kingdom work here.

So, we want to be known as growing and giving community who love to worship Christ and express his love in practical ways.
