Take me to Ibiza!
We’re ready to go!
View from the ferry
Map of the island: we will be in Santa Eulalia
View from the fortress
The course began this year with a performance at the Restaurant CAN RIBAS,
directly in the heart of Santa Eulalia
But both pupils and teachers had to perform for their meals...
Here Sylvia Dierig and Gerd-Uwe Klein, our two violinists from Bieselsberg, Germany
...and José Vázquez on the  viola da gamba
And we were treated like kings:
Vincente, the owner, offered us the best paella we have ever had!
Classes began the next day: and it was Corelli on the agenda:
Concerto grosso in g-minor for the Nativity
The harpsichord was donated by Toni Riera, whom we will be meeting later.
Concentrated work,
in detail,
and with dedication!
Failry soon we will reap the harvest of our labours:
Corelli would have been proud of the high ...
...and the low instruments and so are were.

The second restaurant-concert took place at Nina*s, right at the waterfront.
Great place, great meal!
Some help was needed because of the wind...

Between the musical offerings...
we were amply rewarded for our efforts:
Ravioli! Never did you see such happy faces...
Es Vedrà
The beaches were also on the agenda of the course.
View from one of the beaches: stuning!
Something had to be done to hide from the searching sun!
Some sought relief in the water!

Here Gerd-Uwe and Sylvia, planning the evening’s concert.
The fabulous four-star Hotel Tres Torres offered us not only a wonderful dinner,
but also the ideal conditions for the final concert of the course...
Mozart!
Haydn!
Marais!
In all, three student concerts took place,
which began at 21:30 and ended ... quite late!
The Castle in Ibiza
View from the harbour
and from the Castle
On two evenings we were entertained by the local big band, in which several of our students also participated.

The faculty members also had to perform 5 concerts during the course...
Gerd Uwe Klein (D), violin, Aarón Zápico (E), harpsichord, Christian Drechsel (D), violoncello, Lúcia Krommer (HU) and José Vázquez (Cuba), violas da gamba at the Capilla de Lurdes, Santa Eulalia.

A closer look at Aarón Zápico (E), who presided at the harpsichord during all of the concerts.
Church of San Carlos, where the second concert took place.
Lúcia Krommer on the viola da gamba by Michael Albanus, 1706
Christian Drechsel (D), violoncello
Concierto en Santa Gertrudis, Ibiza
A youthful audience!
Lúcia Krommer in action and some admirers.
After a sumptuous lunch at Claudio’s, Lúcia Krommer succombs to the Spanish custom of the Siesta...
We also performed for a wedding (well, almost...)
in one of the most charming settings!
Toni Riera (E), flautista de Ibiza y co-organizador del curso.
Toni Riera and Lúcia Krommer, waiting for the wedding guests...
The Trio, performing for a  pensive buddha in a marvellous setting.
Still waiting for the wedding guests; there had been a motor failure and the guests arrived almost too late to hear the music.
We had to leave to perform a Concert in Santa Eulalia
Concierto en la Capilla de Lurdes, Santa Eulalia
And suddenly a Ray of Divine Inspiration annointed his head...

Last night on the island paradise.
Departure, but never a definite one! Next year, same time, same place!
A pleasant way to learn Baroque performance practice
